Welcome Bentley!!

So Brian and I have been talking about getting a puppy for a while. It started out as kind of a joke but then I got a case of puppy fever and have been stalking adoption sites and craigslist like a crazy person! Well we finally found the perfect pup and boy oh boy do we love him!!

Say hello to Bentley!
He's a dalmatian/poodle mix and was born February 2.
He's weighing in at 4.8 lbs!

I'm so in love with his little brown ear!

He's still getting used to his collar but how cute is his name tag?!

Sleeping is definitely one of his favorite things to do...

Cuddling with cousin Jack's raccoon

CUTE!!

He absolutely loves his new bed!

I think he's a keeper :)

Quality Time

Me and my boyfriend, Brian(I may refer to him as Nugget, Bub, or Bug from time to time--don't tell him I told you) have stupid opposite schedules, as I mentioned before. It makes running errands together THAT much more fun since it can't always happen...he actually had Monday off this week so we were able to get crazy and run some of those amazing errands...Costco, Target, Credit Union...you know, the really fun stuff ;)

Obviously you can't leave Target without popcorn and that Bub LOVES himself some popcorn. We're not usually this big of pigs (usually), our hands were dirty and we all know how he feels about dirty hands!!

Oh Hi cute Target flip flops! So cute, yet so painful...and yes, that is a size 10. Don't judge me.

Working on his Hackintosh...about 2 seconds after this photo we had a discussion about the amount of electronics we have in our bedroom alone...it's scary.

I will complain about living in Vegas all day long but when I really think about it...I love my home! I love the desert and I love the amazing skies it gives us!

Farewell Weekend

What a good weekend I had! My boyfriend and I have very different schedules so we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like. We don't have any days off together and so we only see each other in the evenings or if it's Friday and Saturday we don't really see each other at all unless its early in the morning or late at night when he's off. Well last week Brian got a phone call from his boss saying he will now be working 7:30 am to 3:30 am on Saturdays! That means I get to see him while the sun is up!! This weekend was a little different because he had to work from 5 pm-1 am Sunday night so we got to enjoy Sunday morning as well!

This Saturday we took advantage of our first good Saturday. We had made plans to make dinner for Brian's mom and sister. On the way to their house we stopped by Petsmart to take a look at the puppies out there for adoption...oh how I want a puppy (this miniature schnauzer...if you're askin). As of now were just looking but if we find the right one, then maybe!!

At Brian's mom's we whipped up a nice batch of fish and chips. I was actually impressed! We had a lot of potatoes so it took a while to finish those up but otherwise it went fairly smooth. We had some cod and bought a nice breading from the store and fried em up! They really did turn out great and Brian did a nice job cooking them!

Later that night we were able to meet up with a couple of Brian's friends and have some drinks, good times!
Sunday we slept in until 12:30!! Stayed out too late I guess! We decided to go eat breakfast at a restaraunt near by. I got the French Toast and Brian got the Pancakes. So yum!!

From there we wandered over to a different Petsmart and looked at the cats and some other animals. Those poor cats break my heart. I wish I could bring them all home, but you know, Crazy Cat Lady. I did find a fish I liked though! Not the orange ones but the silver ones. Don't they look they they have big goggles on?! So cute. If I could play with them I would have totally bought one but I hear fish aren't much for a good time...

I don't remember what this guy was called, Dwarf somethin? First off, I hate rodents. Hate. Rodents. BUT I think I found my one exception. He's just so round and cute! Doesn't he look like he should talk?!

The rest of the day consisted of taking a short nap, Brian going to work and me going to my mom's, eating some birthday cake, making more mini cheesecakes, coming home, painting my nails and watching trashy tv. Good times.

Friday means....

Kabob Shack in town for the St. Patty's festival = extra/leftover kabobs end up in our freezer! Love gettin the hook ups! SO GOOD!!

Little Kitty bathin in that sun! We have had such amazing weather lately!

Lunch date with my man...Caesar Salads make my knees weak...

Triple Grilled Cheese...seriously the cheesiest, most delicious grilled cheese ever...seriously. Isn't he cute? ;)

Whipped up these little strawberry cheesecakes thanks to this recipe over at Shutterbean...probably one of my new favorite recipes. So quick and easy! Their recipe says it makes about 10 mini cakes but I got a good 12 out of it. Also, I recommend using homemade strawberry jam. I used my mom's freezer jam and it tasted so fresh! I'm sure store bought is good as well but just not the same :)

Happy Friday!

Healing

So a little over two years ago, my sweet baby girl, Joslyn Amberli passed away. She was 19 months old and I took it very hard. I've had my ups and downs as far as healing go but about a month ago I decided it was time to talk to someone. I saw a therapist who gave me some advice and thought it might be a good idea to start a journal of the memories/feelings I have of her life and her passing. I decided to take her advice and do this in the form of a blog. I am also going to allow my close family to add their own thoughts and memories in hopes that in the end we can turn it into a blog book and have it to keep always as a tribute to her amazing life and the impact she had on ours. I just wrote the first post and already I feel a step closer to healing my heart. I will never forget or want to forget her but I do believe it is important for my heart to heal.

Happiest little spirit I could ever imagine...
